The latest from HennyVault. It's a classic type of roots & one drop riddim, based on the Istanbul riddim from 2005. This is total remake, no original samples used. HennyMan - Istanbul Revisited

Hefla Nyah - Tainted
Call it a remake, call it a version, call it a remix, call it stealing. What ever you call it, it works in reggae. This time a new talent, Hefla Nyah originally from JA, raised in Philly, has his way with Soft Cell's Tainted Love. This time with a bit more conscious roots vibe featuring Guyanese Natural Black.

Distant Relatives
The marriage of reggae and rap was a big trend in the 90's and I'd personally like to see more of that stuff coming out. I mean for an example the stuff that Nas and Damian "Junior Gong" have done in the past is sooo great (see this). Well now it seems that this ganja-lovin' duo is back in the studio and on the road mixing the roots to the hop. The snippet "As We Are" from the album to come sounds just what it should sound like. Damian is one of the best toasters on the market and Nas has always mastered the skill of clear and distinctive rapping.
