This actually came out last in the end of last year, but let's share it here to celebrate 2018 and the coming winter.

The latest from Hennyvaults. Very laid back and downtempo feel in this beat. Starts a bit timberlandish but you gotta pay tribute, right?

Torcha is back!

Here is the remix of the classic Kriton track Torcha by HennyMan, released just this weekend.
The original version was released in 2008. A remastered version was made in 2010ish but this is totally a new version. Enjoy.
The best way to describe this remake is "Disco Meets Trap." Go figure.

Shaded Rooms

Year 2015 brings the first tune from HennyMan in a while. This time a track that's a well bodied and a tasty coctail of softrock, disco & electro. It is somewhere in between of Eagles, Kraftwerk & Chromeo. With a clear schlager feel to it. This is the instrumental version with some additional melodies to spice it up. Vocal version should come later this year, let's hope Glenn Frey can find the time to drop by at the Staten Island Studios.

HennyMan at it again. This time a lot of new synths here, big props to SynthMaster, which is a pretty cool plugin. I would describe this somewhere between punk house and electronic pop.

Bad Minton, a new track from Henny

Yes, new gear makes Henny active. Big up Ableton Live 9, here's brand new track called "Bad Minton". It hasn't been mastered or anything yet, and maybe we'll get some groovy vocals added later. Just wanted to share it as soon as I felt there was a good vibe to it.

Danger Danger

I was really into some crappy hair metal bands back in the 80's when i was a school kid. Like not even just Poison, Winger, Ratt, Warrant and Dokken, but even ones that weren't as popular, but still equally crappy. Like Danger Danger from New York. They looked (and sounded) like bunch of little girls, but i didn't care. And at least their first album cover was pretty cool - in a geeky airbrush way (see above).

And all this blabbering leads me to this: last friday i met this nice dude named Jan at the Cocomotion club and he said that he has a blog called Danger Danger. And not just any old blog, but actually a really cool one. A music one. So unless you're still into crap hair metal, go check it out!

Reggae outta....Netherlands?

I used to be a classic orthodox purist who thought that reggae could only come from Jamaica, period. But slowly I have warmed up to a lot of artists outside JA making killer tunes. For instance Alborosie (from Italy) and Collie Buddz (New Orleans/Bermuda) have blown my mind the last few years. Actually Collie's debut album is one of the best reggae albums to come out in five years.

I also have started to like the more adapted form of reggae that's also lyrically fully localized. I mean Jukka Poika, SCB, Nopsajalka & Raappana here in Finland are worth mentioning of course.

The latest one drop / roots influenced foreign artist that caught my attention is Ziggi (no, not an offspring of any of the Marleys). Ziggi was born in the Netherlands, which is is the Jamaica of the Europe, in some aspects like the tolerance for usage of soft drugs at least. Actually I guess Netherlands is more tolerant than any country in the world when it comes to the recreational use of sativa, but that's another story.

Ziggi has done Blaze it which uses Collie's Come Around riddim, the hotta redrum-anthem with Goodellas called Cry Murdah but I think that this song is the best reggae song for the moment:
