Megaupload song

Sooooo. We love 'em file sharing sites as well, but here Kanye, Drake and Diddy and other friends sing the praise for Megaupload. I'm puzzled. Honestly. How did they get these guys to promote this?

Anyways, two things I'd like to highlight from this clip.

1) We've been wondering where the heck is Lil Jon. Well, on this video.

2) The chorus melody is soooo world music that it would make Peter Gabriel and Wyclef Jean jealous.

Brooklyn we go hard

What you get when you mix Brooklyn focused lyrics, Santogold's vocals, Jay-Z's rapping and Kanye West's producing skills? Well, you get the last really good rap song of the year 2008. Jay-Z's (feat. Santogold) Brooklyn is the newish track taken off the soundtrack of the upcoming film “Notorious”, a biopic of The Notorious B.I.G. I really love when rap songs use samples of fresh tunes like in this case

If the song's this hard, I guess the film's gonna be a banger too.

The Hype Machine

In the digital age if you want to be ahead and know what's coming up next on the music scene, you can't really rely on official charts and media. I mean, even the Billboards and such are good indicators of what's happening right now with the masses (album, single and even downloaded music sales) but it's the blogs where the action is. You might have build your own iGoogle or Netvibes account to follow the latest RSS-feeds of your favourite blogs, but here's a good site to see what the blogosphere is buzzing about: The Hypemachine

Obviously Hypemachine is not perfect, 'cos it don't have Kriton Music indexed :-), but it's a nice service though. Recently we've covered one out of three top artists with our posts about Kanye's fixed gear 'cos the most blogged ones for the time being are Kanye, Cut Copy and MGMT.

But let's fix that: Cut Copy really rocks and so does MGMT.

It's amazing

It might come as a surprise to many of you but our older blog post about Kanye West's trackbike is one of the biggest things that lures readers to our blog.

Besides obvious love for track bikes and fixie culture I think that Kanye is still a genius when it comes to making music. On the new album mr West is mos def overusing vocoder/autotune all too much. But for an example this one has a super simple but cool beat and a bit corny piano loop that kinda fits in perfectly with the lofi rapping. I just had to turn up my speakers when this was on air this morning. And Jeezy comes in just when u think the song is over. It's amazing.

Jockin Jay-Z

Whoa, i didn't see this one coming. New Jay-Z only less than a year after American Gangster. This is the new single "Jockin' Jay-Z" from the upcoming Blueprint 3 (seriously, how many of these will Jigga make until he realizes the first Blueprint is unfuckwithable?). Anyway this joint is pretty hot, on some serious "99 Promblems" vibe, and produced by who else than Kanyeezy!

Kanye West Spotted in Trackstar NYC Buying a Fixed Gear Bike!

RED ALERT!  This Just in: Teh Fixed Gear Trend has reached the tipping point!

The title of the post pretty much says it all: 

Look here: "fyi, i was at trackstar today and kanye west came in and bought a track bike. which track bike u say? u want to know so u can either go out and buy it or giving up track riding all together?"

And a lil' bit more here. 

"So, my sources have told me that not only did Kanye West roll through Trackstar yesterday, but he is getting a "blinged" out Vigorelli and the guys from DQM taught him how to skid."

Another one bites the dust

This blog has been focusing on body counting these last few days. The latest one to go was Evel Knievel, the motorcycling stuntman and daredevil legend. I personally remember picking up his name from some old rap song and I thought it was a cool name even before I knew what he did for living. He had some beef with Kanye West last years, but he made peace with Mr. West just before hispassing away. The beef had to do with Kanye's video:

"Knievel had sued Kanye West and Roc-A-Fella Records in Dec. 2006 after West released a video for “Touch The Sky.” In the video, West assumed the name "Evel Kanyevel" and donned several of Knievel’s staple looks, including a unique “WK” belt buckle, according to thesmokinggun.com"
